We are in North Carolina! We flew to Myrtle Beach and a great friend and board member of SOI, Kathleen met us at the airport to drive us to Wilmington.  Along the way we stopped in Wrightsville Beach to have a great ocean view lunch at the Oceanside Restaurant in Wrightsville, it was beautiful!  Added bonus, Sal, met us at the restaurant too so we were able to all catch up before heading into Wilmington.

After lunch, we hopped back in our cars and headed to the hotel, it was great to be there a little early so we could all relax a little, freshen up and catch up!  Around 5 we headed downtown to the Convention Center to attend a fundraising dinner hosted by Aaron and Faith Talley.  It was an incredibly beautiful setting, the room looked spectacular, they had pictures scrolling up front, a beautiful table setup to sell handmade necklaces from Africa and a book signing table for Robert, Phiona and Tim Crothers!! Aaron shared about his experiences and how he came to know Sports Outreach before having Robert and Phiona come up to share their story.  Robert and Phiona did an amazing job, they spoke so eloquently and straight from the heart, the story is one that every time you hear it it feels like the first time.  Rodney followed up with more updates on Sports Outreach along with an introduction to the Kampala Ministry Center and how far that has come and how far it still needs to go.

Following a beautiful dinner and a great round of talking, Robert, Phiona and Tim headed back and visited, signed a few books, and everyone had some time to talk and meet a couple new friends.

The evening was beatiful, relaxing and fun and we can’t wait until tomorrow to spend some quality time with Aaron and Faith before heading to VA Beach for a school visit and interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network.
